Who We Are
Hi! I’m Mandy -
Founder and owner of Mindful Therapies. As a native Minnesotan and active member of our Twin Cities community, I recognize the need for holistic life management support Occupational Therapists are distinctly qualified to provide.
I am a registered Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) experienced in meeting the needs of individuals throughout the lifespan - children to older adults. I became an occupational therapist out of amazement for the human body and how we relate to this world.
Receiving a Master’s in Occupational Therapy from St. Catherine University has instilled my passion for evidence-based yet heartful practice, interdisciplinary work, and compassionate leadership.
Most of my several years experience have been spent working alongside multidisciplinary healthcare teams in trauma informed mental health and addiction services at the University of Minnesota Medical Center.
I am also a registered yoga instructor (RYT). My 220 hours of yoga teacher training through Yess Yoga emphasizes intuition and authenticity - qualities I use in client-centered interventions and 10+ years of personal practice. I am also Sensory Enhanced Yoga (™) certified - integrating theoretical concepts and research of OT into Yoga practice for healing sensory sensitivities, stress-related ailments, PTSD, and anxiety. As a lifelong learner I am currently seeking certification for Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) at the University of Massachusetts.
I truly believe in a team effort, led by my clients.
